Our child-friendly research center is situated at two main locations within the Radboud University and also at the Max Planck Institute: Montessorilaan 3 and Wundtlaan 1 in Nijmegen. In addition, some studies take place at the Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging (Kapittelweg 29).
The Baby Research Center was originally set up in 1999 by Prof. Dr. Anne Cutler when she won the prestigious Spinoza prize. The BRC was the first baby research center in the Netherlands where language development and later also social cognitive development of babies and children from birth to 4 years was studied. Later, the Developmental Psychobiology Lab group joined us, with research focusing on pregnant women and the unborn child. In 2017 came yet another expansion of the BRC; in the new Baby & Child Research Center, we study children from conception to six years old.
